Nick Goodier joined the Mila Maintenance and Installation Team in 2018 having worked as Group Finance Manager for the Arran Isle Group that owns the company since 2014.
I was delighted to join the Mila Maintenance and Installation team; having worked for the Arran Isle Group which owns the company since 2014 I began working directly as Finance Director of one of the other group companies Window Ware in 2017, and then split my responsibilities and time a year later to manage the finances of both business. My time is currently split equally between the two companies.
As Financial Director I work closely with Tristan to make financial, operational and strategic decisions to drive the business forward. I am responsible for delivering monthly financial and KPI reporting to the business and reporting to Group.
My role includes the preparation of forecasts, budgets and the company’s strategic plan. I spend a lot of time working with our IT department to explore opportunities to make the business operation more efficient and to support improvements in service to our many clients. This is something which is a new challenge for me, and it excites me to think that I can make a real difference.
Among the great challenges in any business is managing credit and cashflow and it is my job to ensure that we don’t expose the business to any undue risk, and to work with the rest of the team to make sure we have robust systems in place to deliver valuations and invoices on time, and that we get paid according to terms.
Working at Mila Maintenance and Installation is something I am really enjoying; the culture of the business instilled by Tristan is really positive and supports my own principles of honesty and integrity, openness, continuous learning to help improve the business, and great communication.
