Mila Window & Door Maintenance, established in 1988, are specialists in window and door maintenance specifically for Local Authorities and Housing Associations and our aim is to help minimise the long term maintenance costs associated with their housing stocks.
Specialist knowledge and experience gained over 20 years allows Mila Maintenance engineers to work effectively with all major profile materials, systems and hardware and in any given situation - from sheltered accommodation to tower blocks.
It is a commonly held mis-conception that windows and doors are maintenance free. In reality windows and doors manufactured from man-made materials cannot be totally maintenance free. However they should attract extremely low maintenance costs when compared to alternative materials - provided, of course, that they are correctly designed, manufactured, installed, operated and maintained.
Specialist materials and framing systems such as PVCu and aluminium are particularly unforgiving materials to work with. As such you need to be certain that whoever carries out the work gets it right first time - to achieve this they will need specialist support and specialist training.
Few Local Authorities and Housing Associations keep databases of the different framing materials or combinations fitted to their Housing Stock. Experienced and well-trained contractors will be far better placed to identify the system but in addition Mila Maintenance engineers have the support of the UK’s leading hardware company - Mila Hardware. Mila Hardware have been established for over 29 years and keep a profile database, profile drawings and samples stretching back over this period. This means that whichever of the 500+ combinations a MILA Maintenance engineer is called to they can correctly identify the system and complete the job accurately.
Once the framing system has been correctly identified the engineer will require specialist equipment, techniques and often specialist access equipment to complete an effective repair and/or upgrade. The Mila Maintenance Control Centre is as an approved centre to offer G.Q.A. Qualifications. All Mila Maintenance engineers are employed directly by the company and are working towards the relevant Level II or III NVQ qualification and are currently the only engineers in the country qualified as such.
Our engineers operate from a fleet of fully equipped mobile workshops which are telephone linked and have the latest navigational and tracking equipment connected to our headquarters in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. Geographically our engineers are based throughout the country including Engineers in Scotland and Northern Ireland allowing us to offer an effective maintenance service across the UK.
We provide specialist support, products and services in two distinct areas:
1) Window and door maintenance specifically for social housing
2) Access control & ventilation systems
