Mila Maintenances’ Folkstone Branch Manager, Tina Marsh and two of her colleagues Lauren Maguire and Laura George recently completed an exhausting 5k marathon in aid of Cancer Research.
The trio, who often socialise outside of work, decided to take part in the popular ‘Race for Life’ event at The Leas, Folkstone in June 2017. The length of the course took place alongside Folkstone’s fabulous coastline and saw hundreds of contestants taking part, to run, jog or walk the stretch.
Each of the girls had their own personal reasons for taking part, and between them they managed to raise a whopping £800 for the cause.
Tina commented: “It was a great day and lots of fun. Folkstone is a great seaside town and although the weather was a little overcast, the rain kept away. It was so fantastic to see so many ladies all coming together to take part in such a worthy cause.”
Laura also said: “It took us all just under an hour to complete the 5k, but to be honest it wasn’t that difficult because we nattered the whole way around, and had an absolute ball and I’m so proud we raise so much money.”
