From our first day of trading over 25 years ago understanding that the properties we work in are not simply social housing dwellings, but are very much someone's home has been the guiding principle that underpins our service ethos. We have never varied from that principle and never will.

Mila Window and Door Maintenance is delighted to announce that it is supporting a new under 8's football team – Staincross Rangers by providing the kit for their inaugural season in the local Charles Rice 5-a-side League.

Maintenance Director for Mila Windows and Door Maintenance Dave Cooke has announced that the company has become the latest big name sponsor of the growing Kidsafe initiative.
Designed to enable schools to provide information and learning for youngsters about the dangers in society without taking away their natural sense of adventure, Kidsafe provides information on key issues facing all people growing up today – drug awareness, stranger danger, racism and bullying, and road safety among others.
Dave comments, "much of the work we do on a day to day basis contributes to reducing health and safety risk for children living in high rise environments, or other social housing estates. Joining the Kidsafe scheme is a natural bolt on for us, and we are delighted to be playing a small part. We liked the fact that the contribution we are making is going directly to those it is intended for and we are happy to support those who are giving up their time to try to get these important messages across".

"Thank you to MILA and L&Q for the tickets they offered families of Enfield Island Youth Community Trust 'KIDS CLUB'. With the help of the tickets MILA provided we were able to take 68 children and adults to London Zoo. Parents said how the trip was a positive experience for them to see and learn new things as well as enjoy having a day with their community. One parent expressed how the trip gave her and her daughter good quality time together, an experience they could talk about afterwards. Two families renewed friendship as they walked round the zoo together having not seen each other since their children were in the same nursery. The children of two other families don't get to see each other now the children have moved to different schools, the children expressed how much they enjoyed a day with each other, and the parents were grateful for the opportunity to see the children play. One little girl didn't realise that meerkats were real and not just fluffy toys selling insurance.
All parents expressed their gratitude toward MILA and L&Q for helping make such a great day. As workers in the community, it was especially rewarding for my team to see a great community bond being formed through the shared experience of travelling, the excitement of the visit, having managers from MILA welcome the group, having the group photo and, of course, taking over the picnic area at lunch time! The only disappointment was that one of our children was not picked as a helper during the penguin presentation!"

Maintenance Director Dave Cooke was proud to present the award for 'Tenant Liaison Officer of the Year – Landlord' at the April 2014 TPAS Northern Awards Dinner.
The last of the regional heats of the TPAS 2014 Awards was held at the Palace Hotel in Manchester and was attended by over 500 guests. TPAS – the 'Tenant Empowerment' organisation once again gave tenant groups from throughout the region the opportunity to showcase their efforts which go above and beyond the norm in trying to make their communities better places to live.
For Mila Maintenance it was an ideal opportunity to get further involved with the tenant groups, and they were delighted to play a part.
Dave Cooke commented "For us as a company which engages day in and day out with tenants and residents, it is entirely appropriate that we seek to get closer to them, to gain a better understanding of what is important to them, and to learn first hand what their expectations are from a supplier".

Mila Maintenance is delighted to be the sponsor of local youth football teams encouraging children to actively participate in sport outside of school hours.
